over-sensitive back? sunburned?
I have a 4 year old amelanistic corn snake. Very docile and loves being played with.
A few days ago, she finished shedding over night and i took her out the next day to hang out. It was a pretty hot and sunny day (I am from pa, the sun isn't usually too intense) and I let her hang around in direct sunlight for about 20-30 minutes.
She seemed a little hyperactive during that time, and I didn't think too much about the sensitivity of her skin. I then let her rest for a day.
Yesterday and today I have tried running my fingers along her back to let her know I'm there and may be picking her up. Every single time I even lightly touched her back, she knew I was there, but would jump extremely hard. She crawled onto my hand and was okay with me touching her belly, but freaks out when I touch her back.
This has never happened before. There are no visible changes to her color, but I wonder if her scales were too sensitive for the hot sun and she got burnt? Is that possible?
