By the way Cody, explaining to an oldie like me how to give rep and what it is won't win me over. I'd never in a million years rep anyone for suggesting insects or bird eggs should be fed to a corn.

I never said I, "recommend" feeding insects [I never used Insects in my thread] and Bird eggs to the Corn Snake I just said it was something his snake could possibily eat, in fact I would never feed my Snake Insects, and only would I feed a wild bird egg, if I knew wheare it come from, my snake could eat it, and If i cleaned it before I feed my snake with Soap and Water, and then washed the egg throughly with water for at least a minute.

OK, got the repping thing. Am I to infer than that eggs and insects (And corn, LOL!) are NOT good to feed a Corn Snake? The eggs and Snake Sausage and Feeders were suggested in the book I have, as were anoles, but insects were suggested against. Snake Sausage was more or less a "well, if you really WANT to..." so I don't think I will be looking for them, they seem a waste of a feeding more than anything. Anoles are not sold as food around here, and I remember how it felt when I worked at PetSmart and people tried to get us to sell stuff to feed snakes that wasn't meant for that. (PetSmart won't sell live feeders, if anyone is not aware of that) so I don't think I'll be try anoles either, unless I find them for sale somewhere being sold for food, or where the people don't care either way. Eggs I'm still up in the air about until I get a good yes or no, feeders are on the OK side for now. And basiclly, 99.99 percent of the time he'll be getting mice. Does anyone else have any suggestions about Snake Sausage that *might* make me change my mind?

So if you would NEVER feed insects to YOUR corn, why say someone else can feed insects to theirs?

Omg, you are getting my nerves, I said he could feed Snake Saugages [Do u know what they are] once a month as a treat, And I never recommened doing so. As for Insects, I never recommend that to, I just said that in the wild some Corn Snakes Eat Invertibrates, and posibly some in captivity would eat invertibrates... I never used "insect" in my thread.

Egg-eating snakes eat bird eggs, corns haven't got their specialised vertebrae (which extend and pierce the egg), so I wouldn't.

Also, You could feed your snake bird eggs, most who do only feed chickens, but if you find a bird egg, I would wash the shell off with water and Soap, then feed your snake. I have heard that some wild Corn Snakes eat invertibrates [invertibrates are animals without a skeleton, or with a skeleton the outside, Exoskelton] So I suppose you could feed your Corn Snake Grasshopers or crickets, but those hop around to much for your Corn Snake to have enough time to get into position and strike. If you like my post, please rep me!
Cody, grasshoppers and crickets are invertebrates, but they're also insects.

I'm sure there's a bit about 'snake sausages' in Kathy Love's book. I don't think many people would recommend them. I think she found not all snakes would eat them anyway

OK, thank you. No eggs than. Better safe than sorry if nothing else. Is there any reason why insects can't be used as a treat? I'm happier not bringing them in anyway, but just out of curiosity? I mean, I know they are not nutritionally balanced, but neither are Tasty Cakes and Doritios. Is that the general extent of it or is there more? Oh, and wahat does it mean to "Flame" someone? I rather thought that was a cute little smily till I saw the small uproar it caused.

I simpily said that some Corn Snakes eat Invertibrates in the wild, and that those in captiviaty may or may not eat Invertibrates. I never said that It was ok for others to feed there snakes insects, in fact I nether used "Insects" in my thread, So how is it possible that I said it someone else can feed insects to there snake?

Glitter I think most of us are saying your snake is better off with rodets of appropriate size. As far as insects no they don't eat them.
