The insulation is fiberglass, which I'm not a fan of, since it's not sealed, but I was referring to the styrofoam platters they come on. I think it's a waste, and I'm not a fan of it.
I like the way Layne Labs ships the mice. Dry ice in a very thick styrofoam box, that is inside a cardboard box.
I have reused the boxes for moving breakables.
Layne Labs is more expensive than Big Cheese, and shipping to the east side of the states will be more, because they're in CA.

I don't know how close you are to Hamburg, but I know there's regular shows here.
Expos/shows are a great place to get feeders from.
