Oh Crap! Uh....well... ok.

When I got Syris (8 days ago) I asked the lady if he was a good eater. She kind of chuckled and assured me that they had had NO problem getting him to eat. She warned me that he had a surprisingly fast strike and had never refused food.

When I first brought him home it was around the time for him to eat again and I put him in a seperate feeding tub and left him to relax, etc. Long story short, he wouldn't eat and seemed very stressed out in the tub and I figured he just needed to relax for a bit. I put him back in his house and after reading that it wasn't going to be the end of the world if he ate in his tank, I tried feeding him there. Complete sucess.

So... tonight I put some paper on top of his aspen, heated up his dinner and since he was in his beloved corner vines, I held the pinkie nearby to entice him onto the paper. BAM! My little boy is such a good feeder! Lol! Not exactly how I planned on his dinner going and I was terrified that he was going to keep backing himself up and out until he fell or something but I didn't want to grab him while he had a big pinky head in his mouth. I watched him carefully while taking pics with my phone and he was just fine.

When he was done I carefully put the screen back on and he climed down and looked out of the vines like he was very proud of himself. He sure had his nervous new mom worried though. Silly snake.

I've got a few that will do the same thing. They'd rather hang halfway out of their feeding containers than just stay inside and eat. I usually just pick them up and put them back in. They don't even care since they are so focused on eating.
