Pepper and Annabelle are repeating their very successful pairing. Annabelle is on loan from Colorado Corns. Both are Rich Hume-bred.

This pair produced some incredible, outstanding babies in 2011, including Jormungander the ghost bloodred stripe (unplanned keeper)! The hypo gene, in Pepper, was unknown to me. The 2011 clutch did not include any bloodreds or granites, so I am still not sure if Pepper is homo or het hypo.

The 2011 clutch also included some gorgeous avalanche stripes; Hunter is one. There were several fire stripes as well, including Kraken, who is on his way to LBR next week. The fires from this pairing are brilliant, flaming orange.

Of course there were non-striped avalanches and fires, too. I love my stripes, but a saddle-patterned avalanche has a LOT more color and vibrance.

I'm very excited to see what pips in 2012, and I know John is too!
