A little concerned....

okay so I have no touched or messed with Jose in any way since I got him on Sunday (following wonderful advice from other members here) I did notice that his viv was not holding temp well today so I moved the heating pad from the side to underneath and placed a towel half across the top. This was all done very early this morning around 7am.

For the past 4 hours he has been pacing his home, trying to climb the glass and generally will not settle at all....I checked the temp and it is perfect graduating from 84.6 down to 73.4....note: I've been checking it off and on all day to make sure he wasn't getting to hot with it being underneath now.

Is he okay that he's just non stop or is this something I should be concerned about. It's the most active I have seen him since we got him and put him in there????

okay....thank you....sorry if that was a stupid question....I'm completely 100% new at this and don't want to make a mistake that would hurt him...

No worries! Always better safe than sorry. All of us started somewhere too! I know for a fact I asked similar questions when I first started. And that was before these forums were around for help!

I notice the time on your post. Sunset now is about 4:30 or so, so four hours brings you back to sunset. I know my snake gets really active after sunset until about 10 or so in the evening unless she has just eaten or she is in shed. So I agree. Sounds normal. Some snakes start exploring quite quickly once in their new home. Some hide. It's good he's exploring. Just make sure the lid is secure! He may be hunting for food. Don't worry. It is okay not to feed him until the day you are supposed to. (Five to seven days after bringing him home)
