Dry Scales?

Hi guys, I've got a question about something that seems off and it's really bugging me. I took my cornsnake out to feed him today and he started running through my hands (you know, the way they do), and I was noticing that his scales were making a crackling(?) noise. I started examining him a little closer, and it looks like the scales on his sides are dry-ish, they feel rough to the touch. He shed a little under a month ago, and he's never had any shedding problems in the two years I've had him. Does anyone have any ideas as to what this may be? The scales don't look lifted or infected, the only difference from his other scales is that the dry ones are a little clear, like transparent. Any help would be great, thanks.
Note: I may be able to add a picture if I can get him to stay still

It's possible he could have damaged them a bit from too much roaming, or it could be a little dry in the cage. My bigger male always seems to have dry-looking scales along his back, but always sheds cleanly so I've not worried about it. He's pretty active, especially this time of year. I always chalked it up to that.

Pics might tell a different story, of course.

Yeah I figured it could be too dry, but it's about 40% humidity in there. If I raise it anymore he starts to wheeze /:

Actually it's closer to 50%. I only raise to like 60% when he's shedding.

Still need help with this

Post a pic of his head/eyes and a full body just so we can make sure this isn't a shed issue.
Snakes can shed out of their normal timing for many reasons.

Just kinda seems like a shed is imminent. Some of mine have similar looking marks from being coiled up tightly while in shed.

Hmmm.. Well the eyes don't look like they're in any of the three phases of shedding. My thought is that it is humidity related. Dry scales from low humidity and possibly a bit dehydrated.
The bottom line is not to worry about it. The next shed should clear it up.
