Is it time to feed her two pinkies?

After feeding Melody last night, I noticed that the bump is less significant than last week's feeding. I checked on her this morning and I think the lump is gone. Should I start feeding her two pinkies? Maybe one and a half?

Melody is just so pretty! :)

How much does she weigh? I'm still so new to all of this, so I've been using the Munsen plan, as it makes it so much easier (for me, anyway, lol) to determine when to move up a level in feeding size/amount. :)

I have no idea what she weighs. I haven't got a scale yet, which I probably should get.

I'd get one if I were you. It's just plain fun to track how they're growing, plus it makes determining when to move up a stage in feeding so easy for a nervous newbie like me, lol.

I'll start looking for scales. It would be very helpful, seeing as I'm worried to mover her up. :)

Scales are pretty cheap on Amazon. I think I paid $15 for mine. It's awesome to see how much my babies are growing :)

Melody is lovely. What morph is she? also like that interesting little pattern change mid way down.

Very gorgeous!
I personally think you can try two pinkies - or, do a little test. How quickly would you say she eats a pinky? If you don't watch her, try having a look next time (and have 2 pinkies prepared just in case). If she gobbles it up no problem and it seems quick to you, she's probably good for another one. Anther sign is if they continue looking for food afterwards... although some do this regardless ;)

Or, to be cautious, you could wait until you have a scale. I got a nice digital kitchen scale from an army surplus store for $8!

Since you referred to "last week's feeding", it sounds like you are feeding her once a week. Although she would probably be ok with 2 pinks, especially if they are smaller pinks, there is more risk (regurge) with overfeeding than underfeeding (slower growth). There is still a pretty obvious lump in the picture you showed.

If you are in fact only feeding once every 7 days, it might be better to increase the frequency of feeding to every 4 or 5 days, instead of increasing the size of the meal.

I didn't exactly word that right. Sorry, I should have known that "last week' would have been misleading. She eats every five days, but most of the time it's in separate weeks. I just referred to it as last week, I probably should have been clearer.

I took that right after feeding her. I just thought the lump was smaller than usual. I'll try two tinier pinks next time.

Thanks for your concern! :)

And because she is so little, get a scale that measures in 1/10th grams. I keep a log book on my snakes: date, weight before each feeding, what size they ate (or didn't, I write it down and if they refuse to eat it I put a line through the mouse type so I know the exact date they do or don't eat), if they are in blue, if they shed, and anything unusual. This way I can come here with a question and have exact times of anything important that may help identify the cause.
