Arrow Are Corns Native To INDIANA?

I was just wondering if Corns are native to Indiana? If they are, what area of Indiana are they native? If they are, I'm guessing lower Indiana.

No. My herp book says that there are a few patches of them in Kentucky and I suppose it could be possible for a few isolated populations to make it to extreme southern Indiana, but generally speaking that is not likely because of the Ohio River.

What about Illinois?

I found a snake when I was little once in a branch of the Chicago River bank... back in 95 or so.

Only one that looks like the one I remember is the scarlet snake.

Someone had it in a cup and it had regurgitated.

I've seen a number of rat snake junveniles here in So. IL, or at least the general consensus on here was that they were rats. I didn't bother them, but let them go on their way.

Here was one taken a couple of years ago in my horse's pasture.

There are no corn snakes in Illinois, but there is a close cousin called the Great Plains Rat Snake, and they look very similar to our beloved corns.

Here is a picture of the Great Plains Rat.
