close up shots with a digital camera?

Are you using autofocus? Try to get it to focus on the snake's head, then frame the shot if you need to change the centering.
 
Yeah I think auto focus was on, I have really bad nerves in my hands and they twitch a lot so if I don't have auto focus set I always get a lot of blurred photos from movement.

wow my camera doesn't have super macro, that is absolutley amazing though how close it can get. Attack of the 50 foot corn anyone?
