Wink 48" DIY stackable?

All righty.... I picked up another baby today! (5 month old anery het for stripe)
....... Which brings me to 5 snakes..... So I figure since eventually they will all be grown ups who need room I'm gonna need some sort of stacking cages. I also know that for that I will need money which is why I'm starting the planning now!

So.... Ghost and Spector (the snake formerly known as vanay) are in 55's with screen lids and love them so I need at least that size for them (any handy way to retrofit what I already have?)
Valentine will need that pretty quick here as well

So in short I need 3 48 inch cages to stack.... Ideas? Thoughts? Blueprints?

I would go with PVC cages. There are probably a great number of suppliers in the US, as I know there are quite a few in Canada. You could also buy two 48"x24" cages with dividers in each, holding 4 snakes in total.

If you're set on full enclosures and not a rack system (which would definitely be cheaper/easier but wouldn't look quite as aesthetically pleasing) then Tye nailed it. Most PVC enclosures are stackable. And most manufactures offer dividers for the longer units. In fact, the big US manufactures will pretty much make almost anything you want if you get in contact with them.

Short of that, I got nothing. I know a multi-enclosure melamine unit could be built, but I'm not sure on blueprints or what the final cost would be compared to just getting a few pvc enclosures. Hopefully someone else can chime in with more info in that department.

+1 for the PVC caging! Animal Plastics, Boaphile, Vision, ConstrictorsNW, the list goes on--plenty to choose from. I have 2 used Boaphiles, several Visions, a Showcase cage, and just got my first (used) Animal Plastics cage (gotta love Craigslist). I greatly enjoy them all.

If you want to convert glass tanks, there are a couple DIY projects for doors. Turn the tank on its side and fashion a door out of plexiglass or acrylic. That's a bit more labor-intensive, though, and you still have to fashion a stand or get a shelving unit.
