Nanci's SnickerSnakes Welcome to SnickerSnakes- where the pretty snakes are! I love striped cornsnakes in red, white, purple, peach and pink. Foundation stock, breeding plans, and hopefully hatchling news!

Like I'm not going to take out a full-color ad on the front page of the New York Times?

Lily shed Wednesday and was offered a test breeding with Fred Thursday, which she refused. She is in and out of her lay box; mostly in. The best guess is sometime this week!

I sent Fred home today... *cries!!* I sure got attached to him! When I dropped him off at FedEx, the girl says, so what do you have in there? The other lady answers, "Snakes!" I said, well, just one. And went on to explain that Fred had been here on a breeding loan and had to return home now. And then I had to show off pics of Fred and Lily that I had in my iPhone! The girl had a candy cane corn, she said. The lady made me promise to bring in pics of the hatchlings!

Well, the news is not good. 24 slugs and 2 maybes. I am devastated- I was _so_ excited about this project. Luckily, there are no retained eggs, Lily is in good health, Fred has made it home to Colorado and there is always next year. I believe John and I plan to try again.

In happier news, Fred is back in town!! I'm so glad to have him back. This snake has made more plane trips, this year, than I have since 2004!

Fred and his two lady friends Lily and Penelope are getting ready for brumation. Lily is lavblood, Penelope is hypo lavblood. I'm hoping for better results this spring!
