What size tank can hold a corn snake for its whole life?
It doesn't matter if I'm up at 2 in the morning; if I'm up, Connor is not. He goes back in to hiding the moment I appear. I guess it's an individual snake thing. But I was really just making the point for snakes like him, that you simply don't see moving around regardless what time of day or night it is.
I would toss out those regular tanks and get your self Critter cages. They seal better for you. I read your post on your rat snake and your problems. Best thing to do is get some guppies for these tanks and buy a 20 gallon critter cage.
Well, THE book (Kathy Love's) suggests a minimum of 30" x 12" x 12". I just ordered a Boaphile that is 36" x 24" x 18". I think an overly large cage would stress a hatchling and perhaps a juvie; however, for a full grown, bigger is better. You could get by with smaller, but why? Not much difference in price. After all you are only going to buy one. Yeah, sure!
