Many Vets recommend Fortaz because it's not as harsh a broad spectrum antibiotic as Baytril. It is commonly administered to reptiles with good success. However, without a culture to test the effectiveness of the drug the Vet is hoping that the odds are good that your corn will respond to the treatment. Typically the drug is administered by IM injection every 72 hours. I've not heard of daily injections, but your specialist, and I hope he or she is a veterinarian, knows more about that than I do. Response to Fortaz can be quick, but most vets insist on a full treatment period to ensure the snake is fully cured.
