This year or wait?

Mice! They taste so nice!
Pearl my granite has been an eating machine. She was 114 grams when I got her in October. She's now hit 300! I had her brought over from Daytona by the lovely Darren from CPR, and she was supposed to be a yearling. In the first month she put on 57 grams, so I'm wondering if she was really older but had been on a maintenance diet.
This growth has been on a 10-day schedule since December, of 1 adult or 2 small mice.
So, my question is, should I breed her this year or wait?

Oh now I have to decide which husband! I haven't got a male blood, or there'd be no question.
So, the choice is;
Buck the hypo (USA import, from either NERD or Mack, unknown hets) which will mean at the least normals het for anery, blood, and hypo.
Slim the amel (USA import, unknown hets) which will mean normals het for anery, blood, amel.
Norwood the anery (Unknown origin, unknown hets) which will mean anery het for blood

id probably choose norwood to make everything simple... if i wanted some cool f2s id choose buck for hypo obviously...

Pearl and Buck are in their honeymoon tub. So far, she's flagged her tail, he's doing the jerky dance, and then a bulge at his cloaca...............he pooped on her! I've wiped her off and given him a pep-talk

Good luck with breeding! Is this your first time? I'm curious about it & I've considered thinking about it within the next few years...I look forward to hearing how it all goes so that I can learn from experience! :)

If he realises why she's flagging her tail we may be in luck. I didn't brumate so this is totally random timing. Next year I'll brumate so I'll have a better chance of success

 Well she's acting saucy, but he's not ready. I'll seperate them later tonight and try again in a couple of days.
Any of yours ready this year, Elle?

 I know, as you can guess I'd have waited if I'd had any real doubts, or if a breeder on here had said 'no!' Looks like there's nothing going to happen tonight anyway

*sigh* yes... But I don't want to push them. Lacey is over 300 grams but I am not happy with her shape. I don't trust the 300 gram rule. She is dwarfed by 600 gram Panther, and doesn't have his sort of muscle tone. I would be happy to breed a female in his shape. Sadly I sold my proven sunglow mot female so I wont have corn eggs till next year. But I'm planning on a rather special pairing for her... Maybe involving a stud of a blood with hets :grin01: I can wait for that.

Sorry Elle, I didn't realise you'd sold that one. I'm putting the 'lovers' away now, Buck was just yawning as I looked at them. What a stud, NOT!

LOL he wants it really :p

Yeah I sold a couple of things a few months ago... I just couldn't keep them due to blah blah blah....

   As she was so saucy, put Slim in instead ........... corn porn coming up! (and as I took off the lid of the tub to get these shots, I now know what snake spooge smells like)
