Hello everyone! I am new to the site but just paid to be a contributing member, so I hope I am doing everything correctly!
In a nut shell: About four years ago my sister bought herself a corn snake for her 18th birthday thinking "I'll sound so cool if I can say I have a snake." She quickly realized that she's not exactly a snake person, and she dumped Scottie's tank into my bedroom (which was empty as I was in college)...the situation turned from bad to worse as poor Scottie became "out of sight: out of mind", and I decided to rescue her once I moved out of the dorms and into my first NYC apartment.
She is about five now, about 55-60 inches long, very healthy and very curious! She has such a great personality, but she does need a little extra TLC as she wasn't handled enough when she was younger- she doesn't bite, but she is very tense when held.
I hate to have to give her up, but I'm moving and the new place is very strict about absolutely no pets
If there is anyone in the local area (I live in Astoria) who would be willing to come take her, I would be so grateful. I don't care about money, I just want to know she has found a good home. She is in a 50 gallon tank at the moment, and I would also include her older cage that she grew out of (a really nice Exo-Terra brand).
I need to get more pictures of her as I don't have a camera or smart phone, but if you're interested please let me know and I have one decent picture I can email.
Thank you!
Sarah
