I wouldn't recommend to do it that way because it takes away the smell of the mouse. I did this once for my corn and she didn't eat it until later that night. Just put it in the fridge one or two days before feeding and close to feeding time, take the mouse out to warm up
Don't leave it a day or two, too easy for bacteria and mould to start. I leave my mice in my room for a few hours to defrost them and then feed - check its defrosted the whole way through.

i used to speed thaw with hot water. but i read somewhere that there was a study done showing that by doing this it removes nutrients from the rodent .
