No, I own them, with a permit. My kid wouldn't touch a snake. I think he was switched at birth. lol

Erika, as I understand the law, you may not catch, own, purchase, transport, gift, rehome, share, loan, barter, release or buy the animals or their subsequent offspring. With a permit in IL you may keep them yourself and even breed them but the offspring are yours in perpetuity as well. The spirit of the law basically wants to allow people to have them for themselves but eliminate the possibility of making them available to others who don't choose to go through a permitting process. In other words it's a control issue.

They weren't that hard. Had some WC gravid females and then raised those babies in captivity and those got big and so on and so forth. Only bred them a couple times as the babies are even more of a pain than the adults. I really don't like dealing with crickets so when one of my colleagues became less interested in doing the reptile thing, all cricket eaters went bye-bye.
