AZ Snake ID

My family scurried this big guy (about 6') off of the road on their way to church last weekend. My dad swears it was a King, but I'm thinking Gopher. Found in Payson, AZ. Any thoughts???

Agreed. Looks to be either a gopher or a bull, but I'm not 100% sure how to tell the difference.

It is a Gopher snake however it is commonly called a Bull snake here.

My mother has one that lives on her property that she named Fred.
