Ring Necked Snake

My son found this at his house under some wood he was moving. He and I didn't even know this snake was in Delaware! It's a ring necked snake and is known to be highly venomous ... what? okay, very venomous ... okay, okay .... mildly venomous. Depending on where you look and who you talk to, it's non-venomous. It's saliva has a mild toxin that helps subdue it's prey. I've read they are harmless and won't bite when caught. Rarely seen though! Glad he had his phone with him to grab this photo! And then ... yes, it slithered off into the woods.
