Egg incubation container options

Hi all. I wanted to hear what type of containers you breeders used to incubate corn snake eggs,
I have been using old fashion clear acrylic shoe boxes with loose fitting lids since the 90s. Finally thinking of updating.
I have seen some people use Tupperware but I wonder how that works with air exchange, etc.
Love to hear everyone’s methods, thoughts, and experience with this. Thanks!

Hi Frank!

Timely discussion as I was just thinking about how I'll do it, this year. In the past I've always used sealed disposable food storage containers, no holes. I open them once a week to check on humidity levels and circulate some fresh air. When I know that it's getting close to hatch time, I'll check more often. If I have to be away for a period of time, I'll punch holes in the lids, but otherwise I'm pretty much hands off. I've had pretty good success. I like these because I can get multiple shapes and sizes and it doesn't cost much. That way if I have a tall bunch of eggs, or a long line of eggs, I can simply match the container to the shape of the clutch. I'll probably do the same this year.

Great question!

Anyone else use food storage containers?

That's what I used to use when I was breeding. I used the Gladware ones, or Ziplock containers. They worked well. I didn't punch holes in mine. Just used water in whatever I was using to incubate

Thank to both of you who responded. I’ll give the food storage containers a try with some of my clutches this season. Thanks again!

I'm using those acrylic shoeboxes lol. I've also used Sterilite Flip-Tops for small or unseparated clutches. You can fit twice as many of those in an incubator as you can 6qt tubs.
