I got him in Nashville from a Reptile Breeder/Store.

There are pictures of his current housing in this thread (somewhere, LOL).
But I'm enclosing a small pic here of the front of the enclosure. It's an "Exo Terra" 30 gallon with front opening. This picture was taken yesterday (1/28/17)

Rufus is going to be 2 years old in a few days. He's still a youngster in reality, but he's in full blown mating mode right now. For the past 2 weeks he tries to mate with my arm when I take him out of the cage. (the herky jerky dance and constant massaging). Then yesterday he refused to eat. And for the past few days he's constantly roaming his cage looking for his Lady.

Poor guy. We will just have to wait this out.

I figured he was too young to exude this type of behavior, but I guess not.

Not only is he adorable, Karl, but he has that sweet corn snake "look". So shiny, too. Love your boy. What an awesome snake!

Do you use sand as your substrate Karl?

no, not sand. Sand is a "No-No" for most snakes.

That's reptile carpet, it just looks like sand in the photo.

Happy Meal

Rufus didn't eat last weekend because he was in the process of shedding.

I was going to feed him tomorrow morning because I have always had him on a Sunday schedule, but I just can't stand hearing him whimper and scream, "I wants my Mouse!"

So I went ahead and fed him just now.

At least he's quiet when his mouth is full.
