So, now I have a ton of questions...is it unusual to get an egg a day like our girl seems to be doing? Any guess as to how many "slugs" we might expect? How soon will she eat again?
It's not unusual to go days when laying slugs. It could be 3 or 13??? but it's usually on the lower end of the count. Once she is done then she should start eating in a week give or take but she could go into a shed cycle too prolonging the hunger strike. She looks healthy weight wise so I wouldn't worry.
We didn't get any more eggs, then she did shed first before finally eating a mouse this past Saturday! Very, very interesting stuff! Thanks for the comments & suggestions! Now we'll be ready for next time!
Yes those are slugs, non fertile eggs.
I am new to this as well my snake just laid 9 slugs. She probably will not eat until after her post shed. I have read that you should also give her a small meal like a hopper mouse and gradually go up from there until she is back to normal.
