The snake arrived 5 days ago, and today I noticed its shed lying around. A piece was under the hide, so I lifted up the hide to get it out. As soon as I did, the corn snake got very agitated and started squirming, then quickly climbing up one of the vines I set up against the glass sides. He's been there since then (an hour) and occasionally moves around in the vines, but not coming down. I'm worried that he'll never go back to using the hide, plus, it's the warm hide. Am I stressing out over nothing?
 
He'll forget about that. Is it a baby? They can be pretty flighty until they get to know you and understand you aren't going to harm them.
 
Leave the Corn alone for a while and it will use the hide again. Typically my hatchlings are a bit hyper right after a shed because their new skin is soft and vulnerable. I don't usually bother them right before and after a shed. Don't worry, everything will be fine in a day or so.
