I just heard that the ball python industry has had a new break through morph... a leucistic! Although the thread bashed us corn breeders a bit (link to the thread )......
95 [ball python] clutches is nothing to sneeeze at! Anyone can breed 400 corns. Whoo-pee. But to get close to 500 Ball Python eggs? That's just insane. Especially when 95% of them are NOT normals.
<P>
(and this one really tickles me pink too...)
<P>
But to me, there are degrees of easieness to get eggs. If someone got 200 boeleni eggs one season and another guy got 20,000 corn or beardie or leo gecko eggs, I would say the boeleni breeder had a more accomplished year. Just my opinion, you don't have to agree.

..... the discovery of a new gene is always exciting, even if it isn't our specie.

OH MY GOD! That's a beautiful snake. I think I've fallen in love. Especially if they have blue eyes as it appears.

yeah... from what i have read... only one other blue eyed leucistic has ever been born in captivity and these are the second and third ever! they truly are gorgeous!

Your life savings Misty? heh..... i dont think we could even combine both our life savings to even afford possible hets :nope: !!!

yeah... pieds are still up there in price. I think the newest morph (pior to the leucistics) platty... short for platinum is $50,000 a pop! :eek: Don't bet your nest egg on it, but i think it is.... im not exactly brushed up on my ball python morphs:p

If you could get your habds on some guaranteed Piebalds, Platinums, or now Luecistics, yup...

You know what's ironic almost... the three mentioned above are sadly the only ball pythons that I find even remotely attractive...

Guess I'll never have a ball python, huh?

J_Daniels,

you know whats funny.... i thought the EXACT same thing when i saw that lucy. I love the platinum, pieds, albinos and lucys... but the rest look, for the most part, COMPLETELY NORMAL to me! Oh well, maybe in a few DECADES, we too can get some lucy balls.:p
