Prefers to eat food breached :S

Just wondering if anyone can provide me with any reasons as to why my corn tends to eat his food breach by choice? He'll actually explore the mouse first, skim over it's head before eating it bottom first. He doesn't do this everytime, but proportionately more than the 'normal' way. He was recently moved up a food size so I'm surprised he's still doing this as (after reading some posts here) I thought it was because his food may have been on the small side. It doesn't seem to be causing any problems, but he must make life a little more awakard for himself by doing this!

Thanks,

Elaine

So long as he's not cruising around the cage for a long time with most of a rodent dangling from his lips [as in too large for swallowing] then it really isn't an issue.

Just make sure you keep the size limited to no more than 1.5 times the largest diameter of the snake [general rule] and he'll be fine.

Maybe its just me, but I noticed that my males eat that way at about half the time, my females much less often. As long as they get it down, it shouldn't be a problem. To counteract, (maybe), you can wiggle the mouse, snout first in front of him. He may get all excited and grab the head. Its easier on them to eat head first.
