Eggbound girl. Informative Egg Aspiration Video Included!

Well, I am taking the girl to an experienced and well recognized Vet Dr. Rossi today. To look at her and give me his best advise. It is incredible how you get attached to either reptiles and I have been praying that she gets over this soon.

Update on my female egg bounded

My corn was hospitalized. I got Dr. Rossi VERY NICE HUMAN BEING in the Vet world. I will not pay much for the Egg Absorbation technique, some calcium, vitamins, and fluids. Sad that she is not at home but happy that she is in good hands now.

I will give other update on Monday.

Thanks for your comments too Rich. I hope the vet could do that if after she sheds does not lay the eggs.
Good night!

No problem....But like i said...i'm no expert....this is also my first year breeding.....and as you may know....i had a few tense moments myself. But my girl only had 2 eggs stuck and they were both at the vent..so accessing them was rather easy...So murphy payed a visit...but he took it easy on me i guess.

So, Peggy my corn was put to sleep. The vet injected her Oxytucin and she was able to lay two eggs abut they were rotten. She was not able to lay any other very probably because her eggs were too stock to her uterus. I ignorantly waited too long to take her. It was sad for me and my son to let her go but it was the best thing to do I guess. The only egg she laid is doing fine, looks white, has a good form, consistency, is at 8 degrees and has its humidity going on well. She laid that egg for a reason and had probably given her life for it. Hopefully it will hatch around June 4th or later Whick me luck as it will be very exciting if that one egg hatches....it will definitely be very well loved and pampered.
The vet told me not to give up on breeding but after this experience I am not sure about doing it again. My heart is too big to see the femaile suffering.
Thanks to all of you that gave me your opinion and I wish I should have seen this website before then.
Happy Mother's Day!

I am so sorry for your loss. Be sure to keep us updated on her egg and post pics when it hatches.

So sorry

So very sorry to hear that you lost Peggy. Hopefully the little egg will hatch and go on to live a happy healthy life in her honor.

One of the four has gone bad. The other three are doing well and aren't due to hatch for about 3 more weeks I think.

On another note...I was checking Kenya out the other day and she's got a string of pearls. Grrrrrrrrr. I really hope that she doesn't repeat this again :( Fingers crossed that whatever she may lay doesn't get stuck.

My girl Blossom has 2 eggs stuck in her as well. But they are like 7 saddles up from her vent. I tried massaging them but so far nothing. She laid 22 eggs yesterday! I am getting ready to go check on her again now and try the tub first before resorting to aspiration. Thanks for the video! I am hoping not to use it but if I have to, at least I know how!
Here is some of the eggs..

I just did the bath and then was able to massage the eggs down to her vent. Then I used the probe to try to help them out. She did deficate pretty well though but no eggs came out. I am leaving her alone a little longer to see if she does pass them. I hope so!

How do people massage them down... I have tried it a bit sometimes but they won't move at all if I use maximum force I dare to use. I would also be very affraid of rupturing tissue surrounding the egg... not an option for me...

Have you Spoke with Kathy?? I had 2 eggs stuck on my girl..right at the vent area....She talked me through the whole process....Sounds as if your familar with the procedure though. The first one came out relativly quickly...I waited 24 hrs and did the 2nd one....it took ALOT longer to get that out...but finally i was able to get it to "crown" And i punctured the egg..and let it drain...then the near empty egg just popped out.

Well...this morning I checked and Blossom did not have the 2 eggs overnight. But they were still down where I had massaged them to yesterday near the vent. She looked a little swollen. So I pushed again using the probe and out it popped! Then the second one popped out quickly with no need to use the probe. They were not punctured or leaking so I put them in the incubator. They are a little soft but we'll see. And I miscounted yesterday. She now has a total of 25 eggs in there! I will likely have to change the container though because this one is quite full. I know you aren't supposed to move them but I don't know if the container will be big enough once the eggs start growing.

I have numbered each egg so I know where the top is and know which one goes bad..a few are in clumps and the rest are separate. I have the questionable ones to the outside edges away from the others as much as I could get them

good deal....but the 2 that poped out last...probably arent any good...but try anyway!! never hurts
