SpiritSerpent's 2021 pairings

I've finalized my pairs for the year, barring unforeseen circumstances.

Gabrielle (charcoal het hypo, amel, diffused) x Bansidhe (phantom moonstone?)

- Testing Bansidhe for homozygous charcoal or not. Best case scenario- Charcoals het ghost lavender ph amel diffused, Phantoms het moonstone ph amel diffused. Not ideal scenario: Normals, hypos, charcoals and phantoms with hets. Worst case scenario: all normals and hypos with hets.

A' ghrian (sulfur motley-stripe) x Bansidhe (phantom moonstone?)

A bit of het checking, and hoping to make babies het for 8 of the most common hidden hets found in corn snakes.

Leshen (lavender) x Pard (anery leopard motley)

Leshen was initially sold as a moonstone, so this will test her for anery as well as motley. Will be holding back a set of non-motley babies to some day test the inheritance of the leopard motley pattern. Expected results: a pile of normals

Ms. Moose (anery het hypo, dilute ph amel) x Pard (anery leopard motley)

Will act as a bit of het checking for these two.

Will you be redoing Torandre x Bansidhe this year to check for possible sex-linked pattern?

No.Tor didn't bounce back from that last clutch as well as usual, and she is turning 14 this year. Also, she's never produced zigzag babies with any other male. It will be interesting to see if gabby or a'ghrian make ziggy babies with bansidhe though!

It sounds like Tor is getting a well-deserved rest after producing such a masterpiece of a clutch!

It definitely will be interesting to see what happens with Gabby and A'ghrian.

So, of course, my females are receptive and bansidhe isn't interested in *any* of them. So some major plan changes.
Pairing Gallium, a pewter het lavender to both the girls Bansidhe was supposed to have. With Gabby this will give me again a mix of charcoals and pewters, some of which will be exceptionally dark. With A'ghrian I will get all diffused het charcoal, amel, caramel, motley OR stripe and 50% lavender. Nice project animals still.
Now I need Pard to hopefully stop being an absolute chicken. Might do a cohab pair for him and Leshen to see if this is just nerves, similar to the charcoal motley I had.
