49.5 years old here. Started keeping corns for my last birthday. When I was young I couldn't have snakes because my father (not my mother, oddly enough) broke out in a cold sweat if somebody said the "S-word." Then I got married and was too poor for pets. After that I was a single father and even poorer, lol. Then remarried and when I finally had enough disposable income for pets found that my new wife felt about snakes like my old dad. So we separated last October and about 4 months later I had my first corn. Now I have two, and am looking at reconcilliation with my wife. I think she is even going to let me keep the snakes!

It's been an interesting year.....

33 here my first husband was in to herps and that is when I started learning. However I did not stick with it. I started following a Native american culture and was working with Snake Medicine. I began learning about snakes and found myself here and enjoying every bit of it.

I'm 20 years old, going on 21 on New Year's, and the owner of a baby corn snake for almost 3 weeks now. he just had his first shed, and i'm looking forward to watching him grow. I also have (my second) ball python (first one died ) which is hiding under the keyboard at this very moment .

I actually got into snakes because I was terribly afraid of them as well. I didn't want that to be a weakness, so I forced myself to overcome that fear as well as a few others...(still have a few on my list to conquer) Fell in love with them after that, and I know I'm a snake lover till death.
