Humidity in Lay box?

So our Sunglow mot female Raya is in blue. She was bred 3 times since Feb. 19th so this has to be her pre-lay shed right? Seems kind of soon to me, she has only eaten twice since then feeding is due again tomorrow but I'm not sure if she will eat...

Anyway, I got the lay box all set up today. I mixed equal parts of vermiculite and water like Kathy's book said but I still feel like it could be more moist, the humidity in the lay box was around 85% is that enough? Thanks for the help, this is their first year so I'm kinda paranoid.

Sincerely,
K. Rene

I make it the same as a humid hide or the substrate in an egg container. Wet the vermiculite, then squeeze the excess water out. It needs to be just damp enough to hold together in clumps.

I don't think the lay box humidity is absolutely critical as the eggs won't be in there very long. The only danger I can see is it being too wet, and an egg sitting in a pool of water.

Thanks Bitsy there isn't enough water in there for any pooling. I'm hoping she will just shed early and wait two weeks before laying. We are going on a trip for spring break and I really wanted to be here when she lays. I have someone going to come check on them for me while I'm gone though, we'll just have to wait and see.
