Adult redbellied snakes usually feed exclusively on slugs. I guess the babies would eat slug eggs or baby slugs? Maybe small worms?

They do grow out of the big head syndrom eventually. The adults have relatively small heads compared to other snakes.

Aaah! I've never seen one so tiny! These guys are probably more common even than garter snakes where I am. Nice pic.
