Prairie Rattler

zorro

Old Guy
A coworker shared a pic of a rattler that crossed her road on the way home from work. It looks to be the nicest one I have seen here in Colorado and I thought I would share.

John, Just curious since I've never seen one, is the pic filtered or enhanced ? I see blue/green specs in the dirt that gives me that impression but I've never seen dirt in your area either haha. Or my other thought is, is the rattler actually "in blue" ?

Beautiful either way!

I don't think this pic is altered in any way. I sent the pic to a friend who collects "hot" and has seen and collected many rattlers and he said that the Prairie rattler color can vary greatly but is not surprise at this green color.
The dirt is road base with rock chips and where this pic was taken the colors doesn't surprise me. She didn't kill the guy and so we may never know for sure (or at least till I can walk up there next summer to check it out).
