Question 15 fertile eggs after laying last year's eggs ?

How can a corn snake lay a clutch of 15 fertile eggs after laying a fused mass of 3 eggs stuck since last June? How did this year's sperm get past the stuck mass in the oviduct to fertilize this years clutch? I need an anatomy lesson or something!

Hi,

Are you sure that mass is 3 eggs fussed together? I've never seen anything quit like that. I would've thought that the eggs inside from last year would've continued to grow and get stuck to the inside wall of the female. Thus killing the female.
I'm certainly Glad that your female did so good this year tho!! Does she look like she is finished?
