Bynoe's Geckos (Heteronotia binoei)

I picked up this trio of babies from Katie Smith (Zombie Reptiles).

One is about 4 months old, and the other 2 are about 3 months old. These are F1 babies from WC females.

This particular species is parthenogenic.

I am so excited to start working with this species!
Katie said they act much like little Monitors, and I know I am going to have so much fun watching their little personalities.

I saw them at the NWCBE last weekend, and asked her a bunch of questions, and told her I want a trio, and she said she could hold them for me.
I got a tank set up at home, and today I went and picked them up!

Katie is super to work with, and even brought a setup of confused flour beetles for me, for some feeders. (I guess they eat the larva).
I had picked up some pinhead crickets as well, and after seeing how big some where compared to the babies, I pulled out all of the bigger crickets and fed them to my Crested babies.

They should be mature in about 7-8 months, so I can produce F2 babies.

Awesome pickups! I've always loved looking at smaller geckos, but feel nervous keeping them as they are so tiny!

The girls are growing up, and two are relatively close to start laying eggs.

I upgraded them to a 29gallon tank (footprint of a 20 gallon) today. I mixed sand colors, and am not sure I like it. One of them was a courser sand.
Well, they'll have to live with it for now.
I am waiting for most of the rocks to dry, so it is pretty bare right now.

Sorry for the bad cell pics. I'll get better ones soon.

I now have FOUR babies!!

I was cleaning the tank, and looking for one previous baby that I found a month ago. I figured there had to be a second one fairly soon, but to find four, I was super excited!

Pictures to follow. (Sorry, I have to run to the store, I will post pics as soon as I can, I tried uploading pics from my cell, but it won't work.)

Ok, here's one pic of 2 out of 3 of the adult females, with the four new babies.

I was in the middle of cleaning when I took these photos, so pardon the mess. LOL

The enlosure

I sometime change it up a little after I clean it.

I have to be careful, in case there are more eggs incubating.

Wow, that's really cool. They're sort of pink.
