Snake weight to food weight ratios?

Snake weight to food weight ratios?

Has anyone ever thought to figure how much they should eat in such a way?

Although, I guess it would also depend on age and frequency rate of feedings.

I haven't a scale, but I hear they need to weight at least 300g before considering any breeding.

I've found a couple, one that's now over 5ft long, and the other, over 2ft. I've been feeding the big one 2 mice biweekly, the other, 1 weekly. Is that good?

actually yes. I've been feeding snakes like that for over 40 years. It's called the "Munson Plan" which is all over this website if you look for it you can find it.

Basically it says you feed a growing baby snake about 13% of its body weight in food weekly, and as the snake ages and grows you end up feeding 10% body weight by 300 grams (adulthood). Once the snake is an adult, you can stick with the 30 gram mouse (or equivalent) for the rest of the corn snake's life.
