Plants, woods, and other materials that could be bad for snakes?

I love the corn snake I found, am going to be making a Florida native 4'x2x2 terrarium that connects to another 4x2x2 Peace river paludarium/riparium and I think I should first find out if there's any plants or woods that I should avoid as they would irritate the corn snake. Anyone? Actually, have you all any suggestions on the plants I could use? I already have some Lemon Bacopa, Vallisneria Americana, and Lobelia Cardinalis. Any suggestions on materials I could use for finishing and sealing a diy polystyrene background?

I'm not sure about plants, but you should definitely avoid resinous woods like cedar, pine, etc. The only live plant I've ever used in an enclosure was a pothos, but my snake just kept burrowing underneath it until I took it out.
