Snakes reaction to ceiling fan lol

Just wondering if anyone else's snake reacts to the ceiling fan being turned on? lol Everytime we are holding him and turn the fan on he rises up and goes straight for it lol he stretches out as far up as he can trying to reach it. Anyways here's a pic of my boyfriend holding him he is like straight up haha so cute

A few of mine do this. Its pretty strange. I think they are trying to feel the air, or sniff it. Who knows :shrugs:. Just don't let him get too close! :eek1:

I only have one that pays attention to it - and she doesn't like it at all. She hisses and strikes in the general upwards direction of it over and over and over again.

My snake doens't due that, but I guess I see how the new scents wafting may entice them to move towards the fan.

Mine does the same thing when my stereo is on. The songs with a lot of rhythm, yet little bass seem to make him do it. He has never done it to any rap music(which is most of what I listen to) just the few indie songs I have.

Maybe I should play some Beethoven and relive Clockwork Orange.

The only time my snakes seem to get weird is when there is a thunder/lightning storm. They all poke their heads out of their hides and stay there until the storm passes.

As I love to speculate, I think that maybe, just -maybe- they react to the fan in this manner because of the wind.
Usually the cross from a place where the air is still to a place where the air is flowing means that there's an exit out or somesuch. Maybe they reckon it's an escape route or whatever.

Anyways it's just a guess, can't really say it's based on a whole lot.

All I know is that my corns are patrolling and keeping an eye out on me. Head held up for hours at a time, broken only by a quick patrol around their terrariums. And then it's back to the guard duty, making sure I don't do anything stupid :dunce:

That is so cute, and so funny! My snakes don't react to the fan itself, but they do react to my cats reacting to the fan. Could it be that they feel the vibration of it and the thunder storms, so are curious as to what it is? I like the idea of the air flow being different and that they are looking for an escape route. They are such magnificent creatures.

Sounds like a good solution for people with escaped snakes. Turn the fan on and watch them come out of the woodwork (literally).
