Cluttered Cages

I recall the suggestion of lots of clutter for hatchlings; it seems practical and logical. But what about an adult?

Tango came into our household about two weeks ago. He’s 4 years old. He seems to prefer to stay burrowed under the aspen, which is fine. But I’m wondering if more ‘cover’ might help him feel comfortable getting out and exploring a bit.

It’s for mostly selfish reasons - he’s just so handsome! But in all seriousness, I’m just trying to think of anything I can to help him with adjusting.

I don't think adults need as much cover. I usually have two hides, one large enough for the snake to get up on top of to perch. A large water bowl, a paper towel tube, and some sort of greenery on the back wall.

I have two hides as well. One is over the heat pad and one is on the cool side. He uses them both.

Personally, I look at his tank as a piece of art and have it decorated to my liking too. It's in the family room where we spend most of our time indoors so I want something that looks good as well as is functional.
