Want to make my own hatchling rack

What size gap is max for the tubs to the shelf above the tubnin a rack with no lids? Also what size containers do you folks use with hatchlings?

For hatchlings, I personally wouldn't trust any set up w/o a lid. These guys are tiny weenie escape artists. I don't move mine into lidless racks until they're at least on fuzzies.

Just my 2¢.

I'm working with lids now. Just a pain, but I do understand what your saying. Thanks

I have a rack from reptile basics, no lids and so far never had any escapees.. And I had a very tiny kiddo in there.
