Foam

I have a question. I got a 50 gallon tank and I want to do it in a pirate sunken ship theme. I was thinking of making a foam insert that would create two levels in the tank but make it look like the top of the tank is above the wave and the bottom part is under the waves with sunken ships.

Any suggestions for the foam and paint that would be safe to use for the insert so that it's durable and snake friendly??

Thanks :) I'm going to do a hole in the middle that looks like a whirl pool so that he can get up and down easily!

I actually did something similar for my bearded dragons not a ship but rocks and caves made out of foam then covered in I think was grout with cement coloring mixed in worked out great and color doesn't not rub off opn them and is water based so no poisons.

Never even occurred to me to use coloring mix! What great idea. Thank you! Do you have a picture? Just so I can get a reference?

I use great stuff foam insulator and it works really well for molding if you are using foam. Lizard landscapes will definitely tell you how to use it properly. Heads up it does ruin clothes and is extremely hard to get off skin. This is a pond I made with great stuff foam and grout for my snake to soak in.
