OK
i have braught a 2year old snake today called pyro he weighs 287g and is 3ft5 ( i will add pictures later tonight)

And i realy dono if this is correct
the shop owner said that she eats 4 fuzzies every tuesday and as tomorrow is tuesday i dono if that is correct.
i have a weight list and for a 170-400g snake it says i should feed him adults

wat is the correct answer cheers

One adult mouse per week, I agree. Could it be that the shop owner wants to sell 4 fuzzies a week rather than one adult mouse?

When you say pyro, do you mean Arizona mountain king snake?

I have had a couple of snakes that size refuse adults and take fuzzies, maybe it's a picky eater. I'd definitely give adult mice if he takes them though.

No pyro is just his name as he is a red corn
and no thats wat she was reading off his notes i just fort it was wired
she didnt try to sell me any food

Agreed, he's adult-sized so would usually be eating one adult mouse every week to ten days, unless he has some sort of aversion to them. You do occasionally find the odd Corn that refuses to eat anything bigger than a fuzzy, but I assume the shopkeeper didn't mention anything about it being a "special needs" case?

Apart from that consideration, I'd agree that the shop may have a hidden agenda. It would cost much more to buy four fuzzies a week than it would to buy one mouse a week.

As he's not used to mice, I'd work him up gradually - try him with a small mouse once he's settled in, then move up to medium after a couple of feeds and then try a normal adult mouse a couple of feeds after that.

Ok i will try him on medium mice to start of with how many should i feed him ????????

i really dont think the shop keeper would try and sell me a (faulty snake :p)
she is my local and a good friend of the family...
i will go ring her tomorrow just to make sure

I'd start him on small mice. You need something quite near the size he's used to just to start with - that way you're less likely to get a refusal.

Just offer one. Once you're confident that he's reliably eating one small mouse a week, you can offer one medium mouse. When he's established on them, then go to one large mouse every week to ten days.

It might take his digestive system a few weeks to "gear up" to dealing with mice, as fuzzies don't have as much fur. Patience will work wonders at this stage.

As he's a new arrival, remember to leave him completely alone for the first week while he gets used to the new smells and sounds around him. Again, this will make him more relaxed and less likely to refuse food. As long as he's healthy, departing from his established feeding routine while he settles in, will do no harm.

Try asking for a hopper or weaned mouse.

I have a Cali King who has suddenly decided she's anti-fur. Instead of three fuzzies, I just tried her on two slightly larger rat pups, and she went for that.
