2012 breeding thread

Your lil fire looks sweet. I like brighter halloween/easter colors myself. Very nice, although, to be honest... some of the lavenders also hold my attention.
Thanks! You should like my Christmas hypo/Love okeetee babies then, as they shed and grow their colours really start to pop. Updates after they've digested their last meal.......
And, in Belle's final eggs that are pipping, I see a pale little nose. So I checked back and I'd totally forgotten that Slim's her daddy so she's het amel. So this means Norwood is het amel too, it could be either a snow or an amel in there.

I couldn't resist a peep before going to bed, and here's a het full house pipping from Belle! Anery, amel and snow noses!

So from Polly's eggs out popped another fire, but the snow and the amel from Belle bothe have 'scream' head markings and fairly clear bellies! So now I'm not sure if I should label then as het blood or as masque?

When I come visit you J9, you better check my pockets on the way out for pink worms
Haha! Excellent use of the double entendre. I suspect this particular worm will be a keeper if it's a girl and thrives. The fires aren't showing enough diffusion to tempt me so I'll be checking out the bloods for a keeper girlie.

Some little snakies with fat tummies.......including the better feeder of the twins, now on its 4th succesful feed. The het christmas babies are colouring up well

And here's my first keeper. 'Only' het amel, I have totally fallen in love with this baby. The high saddle count and the strong yellow ground colour, a vigorous feeding response plus a calm inquisitive temperement = a keeper. I haven't sexed it yet, so no name at this point.

Some hold-out feed-refusers have got chicken-broth dipped pinkies tonight. Made me feel hungry so hopefully it'll work on them!

Today was pretty overcast, but tomorrow is going to be a scorcher (and I'll be heading for the beach), so I decided to try a mass feeding with pinks boiled in batches. It has been an incredible success, with 41 babies eating (some had to have their pinks re-boiled) Of the snakes that didn't eat, 8 were on their first feeding attempt, 9 are stubborn non-feeders. As the boiled pinks haven't gone mushy I'm leaving those 17 overnight to see if they give in.

Lil's a mum! 6g amel het anery

Pipping is almost over for me this year, so far 17 amels het anery from Lil, 3 eggs left to go. Apart from the (IMO) totally awesome Yellowjacket, no other keepers are tempting me yet. The ghost het diffuse and the snows het diffuse are nice, the fires are nice, but not really enough to make me want to keep them.

Babies today.....I love how Yellowjacket is developing!
