Display rack build under way

Building a display rack. I'm not much into tubs, unless needed. The front will have 36x12 inch plexiglass doors on hinges. I'm going to install false bottoms with sealed hardboard for UTHs, and small overhead LED lights (red and white).

These were from last night, after a couple hours of work. The strap is 2 robe belt thingies tied together to be my extra set of hands.

I'm gonna order the plexiglass this weekend, hopefully have it by Friday. While I'm waiting I'm gonna start working with the lights this week.

Looks awesome! I can't wait to see the final product.

A little note about the plexi doors, having full doors that swing up/down tend to get in the way with my experience. You either have to hold it up the whole time or reach over it to get to the cages, which can be especially hard towards the bottom ones. Have you taken this into consideration?

I plan to install little clips on the side of the shelf that will hold open the doors as they swing up.

We started to build one our selfs on friday, today we took the 36.00 3/4 inch melin board and got a white corrigated one like you are using for yours. That will make my cabnet a bit lighter and I will not have to drill big holes for vents now. Thanks

I'm finally done. I was short on time and money for a bit there, but that gave me time to fine tune things in my brain. Here is the basically finished product. Tomorrow I just clean up the wiring behind it and tuck it against the wall, then move it the corns.

Lights done. Zoey inspecting things for proper connections.

Heat cable down. Shelf 3 has an extra wrap so that the python's lair is warmer than the corn snake's shelves.

Ceramic tiles on the heat tape, later to be sealed with silicone.

Just about done. Tiles down, silicone sealed, modified shrink wrap tubes attached.

Akki was the first one to move it. She seems to like it so far. Was cruising around in it for about 30 minutes before settling in under her warm hide.

Wow, I wish I had that talent. I'm still trying to figure out if I have a speck of talent to build a basic shelf.
