snake earns name......

Ok,
heres the story....on wendsday i got a female ultramel charcoal from Sean Niland at VMS. I had converted a closet in a spare bedroom for my snakes...well on tuesday, the girlfriend decides she wants to paint the extra bedroom...ok...so i removed all the 4 tubs...(my amel, my phantom het amel ph blood red and anery and my butter het hypo.) and moved them to our bedroom( my new ultramel charcoal ph anery and motley was already there as a quarantine). ok, i had the tubs stacked side by side 2 high. wanted to check on my lil ultramel so i removed the lid from the tub...no sign of the snake...checked the paper towel roll..no snake...checked the wads of crumpled up newspaper...no snake....checked her hide of he cool side...no snake.....lifted the newspaper i have as substrate...no snake...lifted the 2nd hide..a plastic cave like thingie...and ZOOM!!!! like a flash of lightening...she shot out from under the hide..over the edge of the tub.....and down behind our dresser...ok...you have to understand the girlfriend really doesn't like snakes to begin with...so i hurried over to the door..shut it...and then covered to vents in the room.....slowly i pulled the dresser out so as to block her exit on the far side.....and there she sat..on the floor...looking at me flicking her tongue at me.....I just reached in and grabbed her up....and returned her to her tub. at my girlfriends request....the corners of the tub have now been duct-taped shut..LOL anyway, i need a name for this little gal. i'm sure she's stressed to the max at this point, a plane ride from colorado to ohio...then the fed-ex truck to our place...hmmm ....maybe ULTRA-Woman instead of wonder woman??? LOL

I'd call her Prestige, that's the final part of a magic trick when you see the finished illusion. She cerainly pulled a great magic trick on you by getting out and under the dresser. Ladies and gentlemen, there is nothing up my sleeve...LOL

Hee! I love flying babies! I was calling my newest Spitfire at the rescue, because not only was he a bit bitey, but every time I opened his bin to clean it, he would leap out and make a break for it! (Still does, actually, but he's not biting anymore, and he calms down quicker.) I thought it was a cute name, but I can't keep using it, because I have to name him something pumpkin-related in a tribute to his lovely parents.

just so everybody knows...the lil lady is fine....i placed her in yet another room...very low traffic, not much noise, but yet gets a natural photo period. im hoping to de-stress her...LOL i know..i know...she's a girl...she's probably just pms'ing (Covering head...in anticipation of dodging flying objects). with that said...she hasnt come out of her hide since the leap to freedom.

How about calling her Zoom or Flash? Not the most feminine names, but they certainly would be appropriate. Or you could steal my old gal's name "Dash," which she got for an entirely different reason - she lived in my car's dashboard for 3 weeks, after a jailbreak on the ride home. Sometimes they just name themselves, LOL.

3 weeks in the cars dash. amazing animals snakes are. i dont know how anyone couldnt love these animals. quite,dont smell(if properly cared for). dont pee/poop on your carpet you dont have take them to get groomed. and they are always..i mean ALWAYS..whether a person is scared of snakes or not,the are always a great conversation piece. if you have a 12ft python in a home built coffee table enclosure....trust me...that person you met last week,and who decided to come over to your place for umm...coffee...you WILL talk about the snake...guaranteed!
