Tub size for adult snakes

I ordered the AP Economy rack about 6weeks ago & should be getting it this week (fingers crossed), it holds the Sterilite 32 qt or 15qt tubs, so I'll have the 32qt for most of my adults. For my two larger adults, that are 691 grams, I have two larger tubs (40qt, I think) that I will be using for for the larger ones.

I really like AP, but it takes sooo long to get them, that I may just break down & make my own, & in that case, I'll be making the 40qt tubs standard for the adults.

Most people use a 32qt size, but I'm currently using a 28qt tub for Lotem, but she's really skinny for being around 40 inches. Some people also use 40-42qt size tubs.

I like the sterilite 40 qt. #1986 tubs. A couple of my snakes are around 600g and the 32 qt. tubs seemed a little small to me. Found them cheapest through WalMart.com - $6.88 each in lots of 6 including CA sales tax. No charge for shipping if you have them sent to a WalMart retail store.

I have three of my adults in 32qt Sterilite (I think?) tubs, and Dash the monster is in a 40qt... she's huge! ;)

Is it possible to get some pics of the adults in the different size tubs mentioned? I am about to build a rack and am in the process of choosing my tub size.

No rush - I just now ordered my Flexwatt and Thermostat and they are in tanks right now.

Thanks!

I would love to see as well. I use vivs right now. (10) They take up A LOT of space. Not fun to clean either.

Here's my AP rack, with the Sterilite 32qt tubs, the two 40qt tubs that my 691gram snakes are in.

Once I buy my own place again, & can make a more permenant snake room, I want stackable display cages.

A note about the third picture Heather posted: Some people have used them and had snakes die from getting caught in the space between the tub wall and the handle inside. I had my normal have to squeeze through there, and when I had my okeetee go through it, she got stuck.

I use the 40qt Sterilite Ultras. I have never had a snake get caught in the handle area... but my snakes are generally pretty big by the time I move them up to that size.

I think my snakes are all too big to get stuck, but the handles are easily removed as well.
(You are talking about the tubs in the AP rack, correct? Or do you mean the 40qt tubs?)

Though I LOVE Iris storage boxes because of the flat bottom, these are very tempting because they are 41 qt like the sterilite, but instead of being longer and more narrow, they are shorter and wider.

Measurements are 29x18x6, whereas the Sterilite are 34 1/4 x 16 1/2 x6.

I think I like the extra 2" width...
