Breeding Plans change?

I think most of everyone breeding corns has had their results of this season in by now, and wondered if you're like me, results have you changing plans.
I work with Lavenders mostly, and just had to produce one of my own Lav Mots, or at least just my own Lavender. I had it all on paper every pairing w/ every snake for the next 3-4 yrs. Did a lot of pairings down to f3.

Well, my results were my one clutch I couldn't hatch. So to make up for not hatching anything I have to change what snakes I will add. Wasted a lot of hours with the morph calculator and pen and paper. So one season gone from my own Lav or Opal mot I wanted produce myself, but to not totally lose time, I have to buy a '10 of that morph to fill the slot. I'd rather not take the hit on a season and push every pairing from that line back.

I know plans change and nothing in the hobby is cut in stone (lol except that Carol will have even more always stunning Miami's) and of course seeing everyone's '10s there's always small changes/additions. Anyone have reults that threw a monkey wrench in the mix forya, or got that bonus pippie that takes you in a unplanned direction for the future?
