Crazy Critter Lady
I really hate posting ads. I have gotten 15 replies that my Jungle is a banded Cali King. He is NOT banded, he has saddles! He has a head marking that is NOT on Cali Kings, one guy told me to look at his something or other florida type king THEY have head markings like that. I looked, uh, no they don't. I am not a paid member here so I can not advertise here. I am not trying to. I just can not stand when you try to be honest and everyone knocks what your selling! Its retarded!!!!! I came here to check what he was and two King forums and ALL agreed he is NOT pure King he is a Jungle, most were sure he was parented by a Jungle and a King but he is still a Jungle. Anyone who looks at him can see he is NOT banded yet they insist. I have really good pics of him up on those ads and can not stand it!

Anyone else get emails that they are lying and that NO jungle (or whatever) could look like what you are selling??? I do not mean with new morphs, just in general.

Thanks for being here guys.

Ok he is saying this is a Brooksi King? He showed me photos of his and my snake does not look like that. What in the world is a Brooksi King anyway?

Brooksi is a species of kingsnake. Your guy looks like an albino cali king x corn hybrid to me.

Brooksi is a king, I think they might be grouped in with the Florida kings now, or something like that. But I'd say what you have does not look like a brooksi at all.

Still looks like a jungle to me.

Why are you letting it get to you? Just ignore any replies that are not interested in purchasing the snake.

Besides, it's not like you are letting on that it's a pure anything. You don't truly know what it is, but you are erring on the side of caution and saying it's a hybrid. If someone thinks it's a king and wants to buy it as such, that's up to them.

Wow Bekers, your king girl looks wicked! Actually the guy I have been arguing with over what he is just asked how much I want lol. My foot is now in my mouth lol. Will let you know what happens!

I still say jungle. There is a slight variation is the color of the saddles and the ground color, the saddles being a bit more orange, especially when you get away from the head and neck. It is more noticable in the 2nd photo (snake taking a drink) and even more so in the slightly blurry 3rd photo. Becky, your pure king doesn't have that color difference, and the pattern doesn't show definite saddles. There is also a slight difference in the head shape and pattern, especially the scales themselves, which says "hybrid" to me.

You seem to have a buyer, and you have been honest in calling it a jungle. Now if he thinks it's a pure corn, and sells any future offspring as such, should he get some corn throwbacks or someone that really knows his Cali kings calls him on it, you have it in writing (on the invoice) that you said it was a jungle corn and sold it as such, not a pure Cali king.

Its a jungle to me.. I hate when people who do not know try to act like they know cause they saw one or two pics of snakes and assume they know everything.. Good luck...

Actually he owns 2 king snakes and a few boas and swears up and down its an albino king snake. If he wants him cool, let him call it what he wants I was honest.

A "brooksi" king is just an old term that isn't used much anymore. It was used to differentiate the lighter colored, yellowish Florida kings found along the canals of extreme southern Florida and the darker patterned Florida kings in the rest of state.

Oh ok. Well I haven't heard back since telling him to make an offer if he didn't have anything to trade. I'm hoping he is just not near a computer and will reply tomorrow. I'm not in a rush to move this snake, just wanting to get something I well, want. Ya know? Nothing wrong with Jungles, I like them, but I don't really want one right now. Thanks for letting me talk this out guys. I feel a lot better every time I talk to you all.

I'll be honest w/ you.. he's one beautiful snake!!! And the snake handler is ADORABLE! Good luck & let us know what happens! :)

Thanks and my daughter thanks you for the compliment :) She really wishes 4h did snakes lol. I may have a taker on fauna classifieds. Like I said I am not in a rush just shocked at how many people were ready to call me a liar and say that jungle corns only look one way. Jungles have far more variety to them than any one morph of pure corn! I have seen them look almost exactly like a black banded california king, I have seen them look pink and yellowish white, I have seen them look kinda like normals only with REALLY odd shaped saddles and the coloring was too off to be just a variation. The last is what someone tried to tell me ALL jungles look like. phfft! My elbow!

I don't think king breeders deal with the hybrid problem as much as we do, maybe, and that's why they can't tell blank from shinola when it comes to jungles. Maybe they don't care about the potential of muddying the waters in their lines. :shrugs: If that jungle of yours was a female, I'd be all over it. LOL

LOL, I lost my probes so I could not double check (if it was female I might not be so easily swayed to open space lol), but the guy I got him from said his female was in the lay box at home. I assume that means this was actually the male. The only other "kings" he had were Banana Kings, babies and adults who were all very similar looking to each other and easy to tell they were not what he meant to trade me lol. I found someone who seems to love hybrids and really wants him! The sale is pending. You guys are the best support group ever! Whatever I have left after shipping him might go to a snake that is really what I was looking for. Not sure yet. Might get a pair of rats for feeders. . . or . . . .dunno lol!
