Water Bowl question

I wanted to know if it was ok to wash a water bowl in a dishwasher? I *think* it would be fine as I would be happy to drink out of it after that, but my concern is if the detergent/rinsing agent may be a problem.

Ideally I would like a main bowl and a backup so if poop happens I can just swap them out and add the dirty one into my normal dishes that day. Thank you in advance.
 
i hand wash my bowls every other day, i use really hot tap water with hand soap then rinse really well.
i would imagine as long as the bowl you are using is dishwasher safe, then i would rinse really well anyway just to make sure all of the soap/waterspot stuff is off.

I would wash mine on the top self of the dish washer, just so none of the plastic melts, the ceramic ones I'd put on the bottom shelf. I'm pretty sure lots of ppl wash the dishes that way. Might want to put them in there alone though.

i do the same as 95zclx i wash mine out everyday with really hot water and scrub it with my finger till it looks clean then put some fresh water it. i don't personally like the idea of putting it in the dishwasher because you cant really be sure if all the soap is off
