black tail tip

about 2 weeks ago one of my snakes shed and about a week ago i noticed about 1mm of the tip of his tail was black. so i put him in some water to soak him and then tried to remove what ever left over shed was on his tail, luckily i got it off and the black bit disappeared aswell.

do you reckon that even though the black has disappeared it could still cause problems?

thanks

I would think that it's OK.

Sometimes a bit of old stuck shed goes dark but it doesn't remove the tail tip when it eventually comes off. If you can't see any damage, then it probably hasn't caused any.

Watch out for the next shed though. It's probably easier to deal with a retained tail shed when it happens, rather than a while after the event.
