Bad luck with your poopers! Usually you can tell if they're "rear loaded" and wait to handle them until they've passed it. As for 2002 normal sizes, the ones I bred are probably at least 16-18 inches (guess) but several I purchased are less than a foot and tiny in diameter. I suppose a lot depends on whether they are from a first clutch, how well they are fed and digesting.

Size on 2002 Yearlings

My smallest is 14 inches eats 2 pinkies each week

My largest is 34 inches, eats 2 hoppers each week

ok thanx for the sizes but

How much should a 12-14 inch snake eat and a 14-15 inch snake eat?

Thanx

It really depends. A snake can eat a mouse that is slightly larger in diameter than the diameter of the snake in the middle. A 14 inch snake will usually be eating large pinkies or small fuzzies. The problem is if you don't raise your own mice, it is hard to find large pinkies or small fuzzies. So you may need to feed two small pinkies instead of a large pinkie or three pinkies instead of a small fuzzie. If you want the snake to grow fast, many snakes will eat one appropriate size meal, two times each week (at least until they are adults). Once they get to be adults (36 inches), then you should feed them only once per week, unless you are putting extra weight on the females for breeding. But all snakes are different. Some will only eat once per week.

just thought i would add...

.... Akasha is a 2002 hatchling and she is 41- 42 cm long which is (wait while i get my ruler) 16 inches (i didn't relise she was so big!) and she eats between 3 pinkies to a fuzzie every five days.

About the shedding. This is normal, for my snakes do this too. On sheds like one every 2 months and the other like every three. There is nothing wrong with them. About the pooping. You can USUALLY tell when they've got to go. Wait untill they look ready, (end of tail is not as lumpy as it was before) and then you should be good to go. Hope this helps!!! :p
